LARRY AMBROSE TO SPEAK AT CPFAN JULY 5 MEETING


HANCOCK vs. DENVER PARKS: Return control to the people. 
A green sign with the words join cpfaLarry Ambrose, long time champion of Denver neighborhoods, Past President of Inter Neighborhood Cooperation (INC) , last minute write in candidate for Mayor of Denver  and leader in  Sloan’s Lake Neighborhood Assosciation  will speak at CPFAN’s July 5 meeting.  He will address the lack of citizen control over Denver Parks and he will offer some ideas about how to take it back.

Now, Mayor Hancock, through his appointed Director of Department of Parks and Recreation, Happy Haynes, alone decides what is a park use. He is the  Denver Park’s Dictator. It could, and it should be a very different picture.

UPDATE on Overland Park Golf Course: Latest park in the cross hairs of Hancocks Plan to exploit our precious open spaces.
Helene Orr is an Overland Park resident and a leader of the  movement to form a new RNO to represent the residents of Overland Park and to advocate for Overland Park Golf Course, the oldest course west of the Mississippi . She will give CPFAN an update on the progress of the proposed  3 day Music Festival that threatens to close the course fo 6 weeks a year, for 5 years, attract up to 200,000 people, destroy irreplaceable wildlife habitat, destroy the landscaping ( they say that they will repair it … every year) and produce loud music on 5 stages set up in the park.
