Badon steps down from that role. Mike Hernandez 2nd. Robbie was elected Secretary by
unanimous vote.

a. Website issues: Georgia reported that the “DONATE” button of our website is inactive at
the moment: the CPFAN website was hacked. Vendor GoDaddy will fix the issue and also
make updates to the site (new visual features and search engine optimization).
Estimated date of reactivation is Wednesday, 11/8/23.
IV. Committee Reports
a. Denver’s City Park book update: As of the meeting time, 91 books had been sold. Patty knows of
other individuals who want copies, too. Discussion ensued about marketing/sales ideas: Greater
Park Hill Community meetings, Greater Park Hill News article, other Registered Neighborhood
Organizations’ meetings, Park HIll Bookstore. Contacts have been made and some of these
activities are in the works already. Patty hopes that additional sales will cover our
printing/publishing expenses by the end of 2023.
b. Hank Bootz: City Park Alliance Liaison update: Discussion about the possibility of holding a City
Park Day (w/ the Denver Municipal Band, an Ice Cream Social, and community info tables) on
5/31/23. Hank says CPA does not wish to organize the event this year. However, Hank himself is
still interested in the possibility of holding the event–and he’s contacted Councilman Daryl
Watson’s office re: permitting for the City Park Pavillion. Hank is wondering if CPFAN would like
to play a role of some sort (organizing or participating) in this event to celebrate City Park. Things
to be coordinated include permitting for the Pavillion, event insurance, porta potties, community
organization tables, publicity, and the ice cream social. Discussion ensued. The board agreed to
consider the possibilities and discuss this further at the December board meeting.
c. Maria Flora: Adopt-a-Flower Bed report: For the 2023 season, we had 63 volunteers
contributing 1,495 hours of volunteer time/effort. All volunteers have been invited to the city’s
Volunteer Appreciation Dinner at the Denver Zoo on December 4th.
d. Postponed for now: Mike Hernandez will present on “birds in the park” at December’s meeting.
e. Next CPFAN Public Program: Our speaker at the 12/5 CPFAN meeting (@Carla Madison Rec
Center) will be Michelle Simpson of OneWorld Seed Company. (Bio in October’s minutes.)
