City Park Master Plan Update @ Denver Museum of Nature and Science
Feb 1 @ 5:30 pm – 7:30 pm

City Park Needs your Input!!!

On Thursday, February 1 at the Denver Museum of Nature and Science, there will be an Open House for the public to review the work of the City Park Master Plan Update and to offer their recommendations and voice their concerns as to how the plan evolves. The event is hosted by the Denver Department of Parks and Recreation and takes place from 5:30 pm – 7:30 pm.

The City Park Master Plan Update (updated from the 2001 Master Plan) will be finalized in March, so it is imperative that the public’s opinions and concerns be registered NOW.

What do you care about in City Park? What are your concerns? What would you like to see changed and what would you like to stay the same? Below are a few of the issues you might want to address:

*Parking: how are the needs of the Museum and Zoo for additional parking going to effect City Park proper?

*When will water return to the DeBoer Canyon?

*What are the plans for beautifying the Zoo’s Gate 15 service area behind the Asian Elephant Exhibit and fronting the City Park by Duck Lake?

*What are the plans for activating the Lilly Pond?

*There is a committee suggestion to install an ice cream store in the historic Bible House and a similar amenity in the Elephant House (also know as the Pump House). Do you prefer further activating the park or retaining its passive character? What are you concerns about additional parking needs such amenities would stimulate in City Park?

You have other concerns and questions as well. Please come to the City Park Master Plan Update Open House on Feb. 1 and lend your voice to the future of City Park.
